I haven't read it, but this indirectly inspired me to write this post |
May 6th (Monday)- After a pause of more than a year (to be precise, ever since I ran with my dear cousin Bev in Singapore), I went for a jog around my neighbourhood. Despite the national “emergency” that plagued the minds of the urban over protected city folks, I did not encounter any absurdities or reasons for panic. I carried 10 Singapore Dollars (from my previous run) and 2 Ringgits for preventive measures. Of course, RM2 would be barely enough to buy my way out of a conflict or get in a taxi, but it was a sense of security for an eighteen year old individual.

The jog started out horrible. I was so out of shape that every step
after the first 100 meters felt like a piece of chocolate fudge that I enjoyed
and was restless about. This made me slow down my pace and speed walk instead.
I travelled the normal route but my instinct made me turn into Lorong Bukit
Pantai 4, and here I was amazed with the great architectural feats of KL. I
chanced upon my father’s golf friend, uncle Richard’s house, noticing that
there was nobody on the lawn. After a brief pause and stretch, I went back up
the hill. This was repeated twice and I even tried walking on Lorong Bukit
Pantai 5 once. The walk back to my residence was fine. I washed myself and for
the first time in a really long time, I felt good and slept with ease.
May 7th (Tuesday)- Having no Mandarin tuition, I had the
opportunity to go for a jog again. This time my parents had actually known that
I was going for a jog (making yesterday’s jog somewhat illegal and not safe in
their eyes). The jog started great but I had a stomach ache at Lorong Bukit
Pantai 4. When I had oscillated this hill once, it started raining terribly but
I still carried on my walk at a leisurely pace. The sky was suddenly full with
lightning strikes and I could swear I saw Zeus was throwing his bolts at his
adversaries somewhere up there. This horrible condition actually made me run
home being drenched from head to toe. Thank God I wore sunglasses for my run
(it was sunny when I departed my residence) as it kept the rain from falling
into my eyes. I washed myself. I felt good and slept with ease.
May 8th (Wednesday)- I shall go for a jog again!
P/S: It didn’t work out , because it started raining heavily at
5.30
Writer's Note: This was written in journal format because someone once told me that I wrote really good journals... ahahahahaha
