Chapter 7

Unrequited Love- Chapter 7 Showdown


“Student’s please sit down, the audition between group Waltz For You and Remix is about to begin.” Miss Seow announced using the microphone. The big crowd of students started to take their seats in the big auditorium. The program was like this:


8.30a.m. – Start of the audition
9.00a.m. - Waltz For You
9.30a.m. - Remix
10.00a.m. - Other traditional dances……
12.00 noon - Results
1.00p.m. - End of school.


As the dancers of Waltz For You and Remix prepared themselves for the audition, the school band performed a few songs to entertain the students and judges. The songs were called “Arabian Dreams”, “King of the Road”, “Sock Hop Tonight” and a new song called “The Great Locomotive Race”. It was from a Disney movie, so many students liked that song a lot. Apart from the seniors, they were more into High School Musical.


At 9.00a.m. Waltz For You started their dance. It was a dance that consists of Waltz, Latin and Hip Hop. Each of the dances was with 4 songs, at 10 minutes each. The crowd was really content with their performance. They received a loud applause from the crowd too. This made the group “Remix” feel nervous. The leader of the group quickly called for a backup plan. They decided to use the guys of the Latin dance to dance a simple hip-hop dance with the help of two of the girls. Not that many people were there to help. Luckily Zach stayed on with the Latin guys and helped with his handstand and shuffling. He would be the main person for the hip-hop, according to his girlfriend which is also the group leader.


“Next is the group “Remix”. Please enjoy it.” Ms. Seow said.
“Okay guys and gals, it’s finally our turn. Whether we win it or not, we are still a team. We must give it our best.” Jennifer said.
“Let’s do it then.” The whole group said in unison.


Zach gave the signal to the music controller guy-Brandon- to start the music. And so they started…


While Remix was dancing, Waltz For You was happily playing basketball on the basketball court. The discipline teacher- Ms. Ang- just happened to be walking along there. As it was prohibited to use the basketball court without a teacher present, she went forward and scolded the group.
“What is the meaning of this? All your friends are inside the auditorium, while you are here playing basketball? I’m going to report this to your class teacher. Now, go back to the auditorium at once!” Ms. Ang said angrily.
The group slowly walked back to the auditorium, feeling pissed off at Ms. Ang.
‘She clearly is a very annoying teacher…’ The group leader thought.


Back in the auditorium, Remix was feeling relax doing their dance. Everything was going as planned. When they finished, they received a rather louder applause than Waltz For You. After that, the other traditional dances were held.

Both of the groups named Remix and Waltz For You was feeling nervous. What could happen next? Will it be Remix or Waltz For You that will be chosen?
